Jaquacer “J” Middlebrooks is responsible for the vision and success of box it UP designs, INC. J was introduced to the packaging industry at the tender age of 13 when her father, Eddie Smith, Sr became the first African-American to own a packaging company in the southeast. In 2003, J left her corporate job in IT and began to work for the family business. Within her first two years of employment, J was instrumental in building the company’s facility and network infrastructure to support its enterprise-wide software system. Through her leadership and industry knowledge, during the next few years, she implemented best class industry standards and processes throughout the company, along with increased productivity and efficiency across multiple areas. In 2012, J was named President of the company and it is within this role that she continued to develop the necessary skillset and passion that propelled her into entrepreneurship.
Fast forward to 2021, box it UP designs was birthed from the 20 years of working in the packaging industry and and the overwhelmingly identified need of providing affordable custom branded packaging to emerging small businesses. J understands her clients' need to have this “necessary” branding tool and is committed to providing specialty and high-quality custom packaging solutions.
